Playing rugby
At Old Elthamians we recognise the need to treat the players well and coach them well, while at the same time instill in them a love for the game. Overall, we want the players to enjoy playing, to have fun. We concentrate on:
- making sure the playing/training environment is safe for children to play in, meaning not only the actual playing area, but also accessible areas inside the clubhouse
- ensuring that all club representatives the children interact with are trusted and friendly - CRB checks are mandatory for all these people
- making sure we have enough suitably qualified coaches that the players all feel that they are fully taking part
- ensuring parents and carers are involved as much as possible in the running of the club and are communicated to at appropriate times.
